Attractions
Samui has a myriad of exploration opportunities for those who are looking for slightly more than lazy days around the pool or on one of the islands tropical beaches. The island has a lush tropical interior that has plenty of attractions just waiting to be explored. The two inland waterfalls at Na Muang and Hin Lad have crystal clear waters and are perfect for a taking a relaxing dip. There are also ancient Buddha images and traditional Thai temples to visit and of course Hin Ta Hin Yai (the famous grandmother & grandfather rocks).
For kids and young in spirit why not visit the "Monkey work coconut" show, the butterfly garden, Samui’s very own tropical zoo, the snake farm, the monkey theatre, or the crocodile farm or enjoy an island jeep safari and when you don’t feel like doing it on foot see the island from a different angle and enjoy an island elephant trek. Koh Samui has something for everybody and it makes for an unforgettable holiday experience.
Fine Dining
Samui is well known for its seafood and Italian restaurants, and many of the restaurants around the island offer a mix of Thai and European food as well as other tantalizing specialties. We recommend several restaurants in the close vicinity and
your personal holiday assistants Chok and Tawan will be more than happy to suggest somewhere that suits your needs and can not only give you directions but are more than happy to deliver you to the door when you don’t feel like hailing a cab or driving. When it comes to dining some of our personal favourites are Oceans 11 in Baan Rak that has a stunning location by the sea. La conda and Prego are both great choices for lovers of fine Italian cuisine.
Juzza Pizza in the Romantic Fisherman's village offers not only superb food but spectacular views over the bay as does the The Pier in the heart of the village. The Fisherman's village also plays host to the best steak in town which can be found at The Shack at the far end of the village. If you find yourself in Chaweng with a taste for great steak then try Churrasco, another one of our personal favourites. Of course there are hundreds of great restaurants all over the island but when you want to experience the true taste of Thailand then ask the local experts Chok and Tawan to take you to one of the numerous Thai restaurants.
Choose from either the up-market and famous end or delight your taste buds as well as your pocket in one of the deliciously homemade family style affairs where you can meet the whole family as they cook and serve you in the places normal tourists never find. (Please note: Our selection of local restaurants have been chosen for the highest quality of food and hygiene standards)
Thai massage
Thai massage, herbal steam and other medical and rejuvenation facilities are becoming increasingly popular on Samui. If you would like a massage in the privacy or your own room or by your private pool then Chok and Tawan are happy to arrange all types of massages from basic Foot to Rejuvenation, Pressure Point Massage, Healing Hands Massage (Massage + Reiki Treatment) as well traditional Thai and oil massage.
Must Do Day trips
When you are in the mood for adventure we can arrange excursions to the National Marine Park, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and more. Full and half-day tours are available as well as Sunset Catamaran, jungle and mountain tours.
The National Marine Park is a day trip not to be missed and can be explored in several ways such as a private luxury yacht or a comfortable luxury power boat to bustling speed boat day trips where you can meet other holiday makers and the chatty local speed boat crews.
We recommend our good friend Tore who has one of the most comfortable Sunseeker Power boats on the island and can arrange any type of trip you require whether it be a champagne honeymoon trip or a just fun day out exploring deserted island beaches, snorkeling, Kayaking etc. It is worth noting that if you book ahead with Chok and Tawan you will also get the benefit of a healthy VIP discount so book in advance to avoid the normal tourist rate.
For the golfers among you don’t forget Samui has one of the most beautiful Golf courses in South-East Asia.
Nightlife
Nightlife - Bars, cabaret shows and discos are located mainly in Chaweng and Lamai. The Green Mango, Reggae Pub in Chaweng and Bauhaus in Lamai are the top-ranking island's discotheques. And no trip to Thailand is complete without taking in a Cabaret Show, there are several on the island but we highly recommend Stars Cabaret Show in the North side of Chewang. If you ask out staff they will pre-book you a seat with a view although on the whole it is a walk in affair.
Weather
The weather on Samui although tropical, is moderated by the shelter of the Gulf of Siam, which keeps the island free of monsoons, typhoons, and cyclones. Average air temperatures range from 23 to 33 degrees centigrade, and there is generally a refreshing sea breeze to be found on the northern and western shores.
