Koh Samui can be reached from Bangkok by bus or train or more conveniently by plane. Bangkok Airways operates 18 flights a day from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport as well as daily flights from Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and Singapore with further flights available from Krabi and Hong Kong on selected days of the week. Thai Airways also operates twice daily flights from Bangkok and Malaysian owned FireFly operates flights from Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur several times a week. It takes just under an hour to reach Koh Samui by plane from Bangkok.
Samui also has a passenger ferry service to and from Koh Phangan and Koh Tao and a passenger and car ferry service to Donsak Surat Thani on the mainland.
